We are off to K'gari for 2 nights/3 days compliments of Rachel and John as a birthday gift and thanks for our help when the twins were born.
As it was only 10 am our room wasn't ready so we checked in and sat by the pool with a cold drink.
After the tour we walked down to the sandbar for lunch.

Heading out for a ranger talk about pollutants in the ocean and then for dinner at a 'posh' Asian restaurant.
Moreton Bay Bug stir fry and steamed fish for dinner.
The humidity is high and it's quite warm but we joined a ranger guided walking tour of the surrounding bush learning about bush tucker. Sampled a few things on the 3/4 hour walk. Unfortunately the segway tour is fully booked out so we won't be able to tick that off my bucket list.
On the way back I played around with my new lens for the gopro. Obviously I need more practice.
Then it was time for a spa and swim before heading to our room.

We had a fabulous first day on the Island.
